We are casting for a feature film, titled Zen: Hunter to be shot in the Dallas, TX area in Spring 2009. Zen: Hunter is an erotic (not porn) horror project, similar to a vampire story, but without a lot of the clichés common in the genre. In fact, the word "vampire" is never used in the screenplay. The story is compelling, and deals not only with the horror elements of bloodlust and violence, but friendship and devotion to friends.

We would prefer local actors from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for most roles, since we can't pay for a lot of travel/lodging due to budget limitations. The actors selected for the roles of Zen, Quintana, and the victims will be required to wear heavy effects make-up in some scenes, as there is a lot of blood/gore involved. Also, some physical agility on the part of the victims would be nice. Victims must be able to project fear/horror effectively. Some parts involve brief, partial nudity, but no full frontal shots.

The producer/director on the project is Jim DeVault ("The Sisters Four," "A Grave Waiting," "2:08 (a love story)"). Payment is negotiable for key roles, and partially deferred, but that could change as our financing situation changes. Check back for updates. We generally work on a very limited budget. Non-union. • Zen Yan - Asian, mid-20's to mid-30's. Vampire-like character and anti-hero character. Some nudity and simulated sexual situation.
• Quintana - Spanish, Mid- to late-30's. Vampire-like character. Centuries old, decended from nobility. Regal and charming, but capable of intense cruelty. Brief nudity.
• Brent Thompson - Mid- to late 30's. News reporter for local radio station and boyfriend of Joni. Easy-going, but a good reporter.
• Joni - Mid- to late-30's. Was Zen's friend when she was alive.
• Detective Darcy - Mid-40's to 50. Homicide detective investigating a string of bizarre murders. Street wise and somewhat crude.
• Feng Yan - Asian, mid-20's to mid-30's. Zen's husband.
• Walter - Mid-20's. Victim and Sheri's boyfriend.
• Sheri - Mid-20's. Victim. Minor nudity/lingerie.
• Leo - 30's. Victim and Crissy's boyfriend.
• Chrissy - 30's. Victim. Lingerie. Implied lesbian sexual situations.
• Marci - 20's. Victim. Some nudity.
• Eric - Mid-30's. Victim, drug-using party guest.
• Morgen - Female, mid-30's. Victim, drug-using party guest.
• Witness - Late-20's. Marci's friend. Male or female.
• Ramona - Radio station secretary. Supporting.
• Thug (2) - Attempt to molest Marci. Victims.
• William - Late 40's. Zen's lover. Victim. Simulated sexual situation and minor nudity. No dialog.
